Most members of Diwan Saz live in the Galili mountains of north Israel, where they create music inspired by the ancient Biblical landscape.
About Diwan Saz
Diwan Saz is a unique ensemble from Israel which is researching into the depth of musical traditions of central Asia. The compositions and the poetry played by Diwan Saz embraces the spirit of the Hebrew and sufi heritage from the historical "Holy land".
The group is led by Yohai Barak, a leading Saz Player who has traveled the world and studied and collaborated with some of the worlds best Central Asian musicians such as : Ross Daly, Mehmet Erenler from Turkey, and Perez Eliyahu.
In India the group will collaborate for the first time with Indian Classical musicians, and will also be joined by Shye Ben-Tzur the Indian/Israel based Hebrew Qawwal.
