HIMALAYAN BLUES FESTIVAL
9.30 pm: Izzy and Chris (USA)
Izzy & Chris were united at an open stage in the summer of 2006. The duo performed a few songs together and got a standing ovation from the crowd. From that moment forward, it was evident the chemistry, the love of the blues, and playing from the heart, would keep the two together "Preachin The Blues" for many years to come. Only a few weeks after meeting they were main stage performers at the 2006 West Virginia Blues Festival.
10.30 pm: Jimi Hocking's Blues Machine (Australia)
Jimi ’the human’ Hocking has been a familiar sight to Australian audiences for many years. His large body of solo work (12 albums) ranges from electric rock and blues, to contemporary folk and even blues mandolin. In the 1980s Jimi stepped out of his ‘Zappa’ inspired electric 3 piece, and the folk cafes of Melbourne to join rock legends ‘The Angels’ on their ‘Live Line’ tour. He went on to form ‘Jimi the human & Spectre 7’ and hit the charts in the early 1990’s.
A three time ‘CAV-Best Acoustic performer’, ‘MBAS 2003 Male Blues Artist of the Year’, ‘MBAS 2004 Blues Performer of the Year’, and in 2005 Jimi won the prestigious ‘International Blues Challenge’ in Memphis USA, and toured the US extensively. In 2008 Jimi was pronounced the ‘VicTas Male blues artist of the year’ and also ‘Producer of 2008’ for his work on his album ‘Blue Mandolin’.
