Artists - Smoke
Smoke initially comprised of two musicians who got together to create a unique sound. One trained in Indian Classical and the other in Western Classical, the result of their almost diagonally opposite taste in music enables them to produce an exceptionally interesting sound.
Ashu & Dhruv blend their Indian and Western classical roots which is a results in different genres of music varying from Western Symphonic, Bebop, Indian classical to dance and blues.
Ashu, a graduate in Western Classical Music Theory from University of Pennsylvania Apart from this album he has also composed and produced a Rock Opera called “I”.
Dhruv began studying Indian Classical Music at the age of nine with Suresh Wadkar and also continued his study under great sarangi exponent Sultan Khan. He has performed and worked with great musicians like Karl Peters, Louis Banks and Adrian D’souza and continues to compose music in virtually all genres.
Together they have scored many successful films including Bombay Boys, White Noise and are now making foray into the west with their first international film “Broken Thread”. They have also scored various channel identities including entire music for Star News, Sony Max, MTV, and also the hit show Nach Baliye.
