The Rolls Royce of Sound equipment
Mixers
- Our two large rooms (Studio A & B), house SSL AWS 900+ analogue consoles. In continuing with the use of analogue gear, we decided to install a custom made Manley 16X4 mixer in our smaller room (Studio D).
Conversion
- For clean and transparent Analogue to Digital / Digital to Analogue conversion we use the Prism Dream ADA 8XR in Studios A & B and the Apogee Rosetta in Studio D.
Monitoring
- Studios A & B use a pair of Dynaudio M3’s (passive), custom designed by Munro Acoustics, for stereo monitoring. Studio B is also equipped with a Dynaudio AIR system for 5.1 mixing. Studio D uses a pair of custom designed Dynaudio C3’s (passive).
Microphones & Outboard
- We have microphones ranging from the Neumann M149 to the Brauner VM1 Tube to the Royer R-122 (Ribbon) and many more. Some of our outboard gear includes the Manley SLAM!, Manley Vari-Mu, Empirical Labs Fatso, Lexicon PCM91, SSL X-Logic Compressors & TC 6000.
Software that rocks
Digital Audio Workstation: Logic and Pro Tools
- Since blueFROG has been setup for both Composers as well as Engineers, we have chosen Logic as our primary DAW. We also have Pro Tools 9, which can be used in any one room at a time.
- Source-Connect enables audio connections between recording studios anywhere in the world, allowing direct-to-the-timeline recording with real-time, broadcast-quality audio using a broadband internet connection.

Record at the club
Use the club as a large recording facility. There is a hardwire connecting our club to the studio. This provides 16 discreet channels for recording to take advantage of the large acoustics of the club (e.g. recording a string section).
